Manne’s interest in the piano started at a very early age, when he was just five years old. He quickly knew music would be his chosen career path and in 2019 he graduated from the Royal College of Music after receiving a bachelor in jazz piano.

Producer.

As a producer, Manne is especially fond of the exploration of textures and sound design, trying to combine the interesting features from the analog domain, including cassettes, tapes and acoustic instruments, with the clarity of digital music making. This often results in music inspired by the slowly evolving but always interesting timbres of ambient music.

As a composer/arranger, Manne has written for various constellations including string quartet, big band, 7 piece jazz band, jazz trio/quartet and for piano and voice.

Biography.

Manne grew up in Nynäshamn a small seaside town an hour south of Stockholm, Sweden. He spent his youth playing the trombone and the piano, dreaming about life as a musician. But it wasn’t until he was introduced to the concept of chords and improvisation that his interest really began.

After three years of piano studies at Södra Latin High School and one year of jazz studies at Fridhems Folkhögskola, he started at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm where he received his bachelors degree in jazz piano. However, after many years in the educational system he felt an unmet need for a creative hiding space, where no regards would be paid to anything else but his own interest and curiosity. Not knowing where this would take him, he ended up delving deep into the minimalistic approach, combining the different aspects of his musicianship –  piano, synthesizer and music production - into a style of his own,  inspired by the slowly evolving but always interesting textures of ambient music.

Now, a couple of years later, he’s working both as a pianist and a producer. Combining the things he loves to a holistic musicianship. If you have any questions, contact Manne by clicking here.
