Hold your tickets ready at the boarding gate as Transit, the new album from Ikiz, invites you to transverse asoundscape seeped in deep-toned beats with jazz influences at its core.The 20-track collection carries you on a trip crafted by evocative instrumentals - adventuring into intergalacticsonics guided by the breezy waves of horns, electronic synths and beguiling or ambient tempos.
Transit embodies infinite possibilities and pure escapism.
Driven by undercurrents of Drum & Bass and rich with diverse influences, mellow drum licks, soft horns andpiano ripples, Transit is an album of escapism.
Each song is titled accordingly with the theme, opening with tracks such as; Departure, X-ray, Check-in,Boarding, Take-off, etc... before the album ends with Final approach, Disembark and Arrival.
Turbulence on this flight is a smooth ride, with gently gliding sound waves of horns. Deep atmospheric pulsesaround mesmerising dreamy horns that swirl and sway in rhythm. Embracing the natural frequencies of Hornsand conversely electronic harmonics, Transit opens a futuristic universe of weightlessness (Lenticularis) ordrawn by gravity (Local Time).
The mellow track Check-in travels through nighttime hues lit by the orange glow of streetlights. Darker still, theshadowy atmosphere of Cross-check, electronic neon glow interspersed with haunting atmospheric grooves.
